Item/Description: Paper die-cut fan, often referred to as a "lover's fan" or "Valentine fan." The fan is constructed from embossed, die-cut paper, featuring detailed floral illustrations of roses. It is typically associated with the Victorian era and was often given as a Valentine's Day gift. When unfolded, the individual heart-shaped panels of the fan spell out the message "A Gift of Love."

These types of die-cut valentine fans were widely produced from the 1880s through the turn of the century. The commercial production of Valentine's cards and items boomed during the Victorian period due to printing advancements.

The item is mounted and preserved in a modern frame. Verso dated and inscribed with personal message, "February 15,1995 to mother I love you ~ Marlene."
