Item/Description: Ornate five-light candelabra produced by the American manufacturer The Van Bergh S.P. Co. (Silver Plate Company) of Rochester, New York (1892-1926). The piece exhibits the elegant, flowing lines and naturalistic openwork of floral motifs characteristic of the Art Nouveau style, popular during the manufacturer's operational period from 1892 to 1926. Made of metal, possibly brass or Britannia metal, with a silver-plated finish that shows a worn patina.
The company was founded by brothers Frederick W. and Maurice H. Van Bergh in Rochester, New York, in 1892. They operated independently, producing silver-plated goods, primarily in the American Victorian and Art Nouveau styles, until the mid-1920s, when it was acquired by the Oneida Community Ltd. (now Oneida Limited) in 1925 and merged into their operations in 1926.

3.We do our utmost to pack our items with the highest standard of care and protection and only ship with professional and insured shipping services but will not be held responsible for items once they leave our facility. Once payment is received, your order will be added to our shipping queue and will typically ship with-in 3 to 5 business days.
4. Taurus Auctions reserves the right to withdraw lots prior to the commencement of each auction.
5. Estimates published, showing both a high and low end range for each item, are of the opinion of Taurus Auctions as to the fair auction value for each item. Taurus Auctions makes no warranties as to finite value for item(s) sold. You as the bidder decide the final price.
6. While many lots are listed without reserve prices, at times, Taurus Auctions or its consignors may assign minimum selling prices to select lots in each auction. Taurus Auctions may execute bids on the behalf of our consignors due to reserve prices.
7. Taurus Auctions reserves the right to refuse admission to our facility, reject any bid or to refuse to acknowledge certain bidders. The highest bidder, whether in the salesroom, absentee, on the telephone or online will be acknowledged and recorded by the auctioneer.
8. No auction lot can be removed from the gallery until payment has been accepted and cleared. Please see our payment, pickup and shipping section for further details. All items won must be paid for within five (5) days or a dispute will be filed and opened.
9. The purchase price payable by the buyer shall be the sum of the final bid plus a buyer's premium of 25% and any applicable taxes.
10. Taurus Auctions is not responsible for items left at our facility for more than fifteen days. Taurus Auctions may also charge a $100 restocking fee for items cataloged.
11. Purchases are subject to 8.375 % New York State sales tax unless you are a registered dealer or re-seller and exempt from state and local sales tax in which case a completed New York resale certificates must be provided to Taurus Auctions prior to the time of purchase.
12. Taurus Auctions is not liable for damaged or missing items after they are signed out and removed from the gallery. Taurus Auctions is not responsible for or liable for any lots paid for and not picked up within 14 days of auction date. By departing from the pickup site you, or your agent, acknowledges that you have all your items and that you are satisfied with them. No claims are permitted after removing items from the premises, as condition issues cannot be validated once items are released into your possession. 13. In providing your credit card information to pay an invoice, you authorize Taurus Auctions to charge the cost of product and/or service to your credit card either through the payment portal or as indicated on signed, paper authorization form. This payment is for goods/ services won at auction and certifies that you are an authorized user of this credit card and that you will not dispute the payment with your credit card company; so long as the transaction corresponds to the terms indicated. By registering to participate and providing credit card information, you are accepting all the responsibility for the transaction to ensure full payment to the merchant and acknowledging that all sales are final. You will inform Taurus Auctions immediately if use of this card is no longer valid.
14. Taurus Auctions is not responsible for purchasers' on-line bidding errors or mishaps.
