Available in this lot we have an original Tongaline Go-Shono Apache Indian medicine man advertising poster originating from 1905. Tongaline was a medicinal drug in the early 1900's manufactured by the Mellier Drug Company. Tongaline was used for countering Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Grippe, Gout, Sciatica, Lumbago, Dengue, Nervous Headache, and diseases of the liver and kidneys. The poster shows Apache medicine man Go-Shoto with a cloth hat with eagle feather and holding a hide shield decorated with colorful feathers. The piece shows a green background with off white lettering in the top right corner reading "Tongaline (Liquid Tablets)" with a list of ailments and marked "Go-SHoto Apache Medicine Man" on the bottom left side. The poster is set into a gilt gold frame with decorative floral embossed patterns and a dark border around the poster. The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear across the frame. The frame measures 33 1/4" wide by 38" tall with the art measuring 20" wide by 25" tall.
