The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Pre-Production Spider-Man Web Shooter Design Prints - 62-48
This set of original Spider-Man web shooter design sheets was created during the pre-production of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) and documents the development of one of Spider-Man's most iconic pieces of equipment. Produced by Ironhead Studio, the sheets illustrate the creative process behind refining the appearance and functionality of Peter Parker's mechanical web shooters before filming began.
The lot includes two full-color concept prints, each measuring approximately 8" x 11.5", featuring highly detailed renderings of Spider-Man's gloved hand equipped with alternate web shooter designs. One concept highlights the exposed mechanical components integrated into the wrist assembly, while the other depicts a more streamlined version with the web shooter concealed beneath the costume glove. One sheet specifically notes the "Rotating nozzle spins and braids web," providing insight into the creative thinking behind how the device would function within the film's universe. The artwork is credited to Ironhead Studio, the renowned concept design company responsible for developing numerous superhero costumes, props, and wearable technologies for major Marvel productions.
Portrayed by Andrew Garfield, Spider-Man utilizes his custom-built web shooters throughout The Amazing Spider-Man 2, allowing him to swing through New York City and battle adversaries including Electro and the Green Goblin. Unlike previous cinematic interpretations featuring organic webbing, this incarnation once again emphasized Peter Parker's ingenuity by incorporating sophisticated mechanical web shooters into his costume. These concept prints represent an early stage in refining both the aesthetic and practical design of those devices before the final screen-used versions were fabricated.
The design prints remain in very good production-used pre-production condition with light handling wear and minor edge wear consistent with studio use and storage. Please review the accompanying photographs for a complete assessment of the condition.
