The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Pre-Production Green Goblin Costume Chassis Concept Sample - 62-47
This unique pre-production Green Goblin costume development set was created during the design phase of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) and includes a full-scale costume chassis prototype sample accompanied by an original costume concept reference sheet used by the film's costume and visual development departments.
The lot features a substantial prototype sample measuring approximately 9.5" x 12", constructed from layered foam, resin, and flexible materials mounted to a stretch fabric backing. The sample combines sculpted armor plates with intricate mechanical detailing, including molded circuitry, panel lines, raised geometric textures, and a metallic-finished chassis component bearing the Oscorp Industries logo. A production label on the reverse identifies the piece as "UNDER SUIT & CHASSIS #1," indicating it represents an early exploration of the biomechanical framework intended to support the Green Goblin's final costume design.
Also included is an 8" x 11.5" costume design reference sheet titled "Goblin Suit – Chassis." The sheet features concept artwork of the Green Goblin with highlighted chassis components, accompanied by development notes referencing the skeletal technical structure of the suit. Additional inset images showcase construction forms, detailing, and proposed material finishes, offering an insightful look at the engineering and aesthetic considerations that shaped the character's distinctive appearance. The concept artwork prominently features the Oscorp branding and Wētā Workshop design credit, documenting the collaborative development process behind one of the film's most complex costumes.
Portrayed by Dane DeHaan, Harry Osborn becomes the Green Goblin during the climactic finale of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Unlike previous cinematic interpretations, this version emphasized an organic, technologically enhanced exoskeletal appearance achieved through an intricate combination of practical costume fabrication and digital visual effects. Development artifacts such as these illustrate the extensive experimentation undertaken to refine the character's unique biomechanical aesthetic before production began.

The sample and reference sheet remain in production-used pre-production condition, exhibiting expected handling, light surface wear, minor scuffing to the prototype components, and creasing to the reference sheet from studio use. Please review the accompanying photographs for a complete assessment of the condition.
