The Alamo (1960) Mexican Army Sword/Bayonet Prop
The Alamo (1960) Mexican Army Sword/Bayonet Prop - In 1836 General Santa Anna and his Mexican Army charged up North and ended up attacking "The Alamo", which has become one of our most bittersweet battles, especially because of the loss of some of our greatest American Icons. Another great American Icon, John Wayne, mounted his own "battle" when he produced, directed and starred in his epic version of "The Alamo" in 1960. It was a flawless production including a massive cast, armies, and a crew that would do anything for Wayne. And it all showed on the screen. This is a hero screen used metal sword with gold-brass handle and black scabbard, as well as a full field rifle bayonet and black scabbard, both attached to a white shoulder sling strap with a brass Mexican Army Insignia Buckle with brass chain and horsehair tassel. The sword is approx 28", and its scabbard is approx 30'; the Bayonet is approx 21" and its scabbard approx 22.5", and the buckle is approx 3"x2.5".
