Hand-painted & hand-fired French porcelain painting of Boucher's Moment of Love, Rinaldo & Armida. The original version was Boucher's admission piece for the Royal Academy in 1794. The work remained in the Academythroughout the 18th century, entered the Museum Central des Arts de la Replublique, which would later become The Louvre. The original version was inspired by Tasso's Gerusalemme liberata, a romantic poem of theFirst Crusade. Oval portion of painting approx 17 1/2" X 24". Overall size approx. 24" X 30". Ornate cast gold gilt brass over enamel frame.
