The revolver has the K frame with a two inch barrel and six-shot cylinder. It features an anodized blue alloy frame and cylinder with steel barrel. Casehardened hammer and trigger and fitted with checkered grips with S&W medallions. The left side of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON" with the right side marked "AIRWEIGHT/38 SPL. CTG." The right side of the frame has the S&W trade mark and the Springfield address, with a "P" proof stamped on the left side ahead of the trigger guard. The top strap is marked "REVOLVER LIGHTWEIGHT M13" and the back strap is marked "PROPERTY OF THE U.S. AIR FORCE". The serial number is located on the butt and "61543" is stamped on crane. The cylinder is numbered "1623" under the ejector. The revolver top strap markings are similar to the marks described as "counterfeit" in the illustration on page 146 of THE STANDARD CATALOG OF SMITH & WESSON by Supica and Nahas. The grips lack the special USAF medallions found on genuine Aircrewman grips. The serial number "C476989" is beyond the C247,000-C405,363 Aircrewman range. The revolver appears to be a well assembled reproduction of a genuine S&W USAF Air Crewman. Comes with a black leather holster with shoulder harness and nylon lanyard. The holster flap is marked "USAF" with no other markings. The holster appears to be a genuine USAF holster.
