This is a Smith & Wesson Safety Hammerless 4th Model "Lemon Squeezer" double action break top revolver chambered for the .38 S&W caliber. The revolver features a nickel finished frame, 5-shot cylinder and round 3.25" barrel with stock black hard rubber grips. The top of the barrel rib is marked "Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass. U.S.A. - Pat'd Oct. 2. 1883. Aug. 4. 1885. April 9.1889" and the left side of the barrel is marked 38 S&W CTG". The revolver is nicknamed the Lemon Squeezer for the grip safety located on the back strap of the grip. The revolver is in good condition and forming a light patina. The frame and cylinder have matching serial numbers. There is a chip on the bottom of the left grip panel. The bore is bright and retains clean edges to the rifling. There is some very light pitting that is present. Serial Number: 173065. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
