The lot features an original Sioux Native American Indian stone head skull cracker (skullcracker) war club from the 19th Century that has been attributed as being used at the Miller Bros. 101 Ranch Wild West Show. The piece shows a carved stone head that is secured to the wood haft with a wrap of parfleche rawhide and is accented by two rolled tin jingle cones. The haft is also covered in parfleche rawhide and shows a mineral pigment painted design. The hide is sinew hide sewn. The bottom of the handle shows a drop of parfleche hide. The war club was used in the Miller Brothers 101 Ranch Wild West Show during the early 1900's. Provenance: Found to be an authentic Sioux piece and was attributed to the Miller Bros. 101 Ranch by the experts at Reata Pass Auctions. Measures overall 21"L with a head that is 5.5"W x 1 5/8"D x 2.25"H.
