This is a beaded leather belt from the Sioux Native American Indians. The piece shows a early 1800’s glass trade seed beaded geometric design on a leather belt with a silver buckle. This was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming where the Ernst Family had the collection displayed.. The pieces were original collected and sold by Otto F. Ernst in the 19th century. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker and would purchase Native American items to sell in his Saddle shop and Catalog. Otto Ernst Saddlery Sheridan, Wyoming. The belt is from circa 1890-1910 and shows very good condition with only slight bead loss to the end of the belt. Belt is 38.25” long and 2” wide with a 2”x2.75” buckle. Sinew and trade cotton sewn. RARE. Has original Museum Tags.
