Included in this lot is a Single Action Army .38 Special revolver made by Great Western Arms Company. The Great Western Arms Company was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1953 to produce an American-made copy of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver. Colt had discontinued this model in 1940. The Great Western revolver was sold by mail order in the 50s and early 60s, and was used in many Western movies and television shows. This revolver utilizes a 5 ½” round barrel chambered in .38 Special. The barrel is marked on the top “Great Western Arms Co.” and on the left of the barrel “.38 Special”. The barrel and case hardened receiver show a nice patina’d finish. The revolver is fit with aftermarket grips that resemble antlers. Serial Number: GW5525. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
