This is an original framed oil-on-board painting from Montana artist Sheryl Bodily, born 1936. This is a beautiful oil painting of a trapper and a Native woman riding through the creek, packing a pack horse. The artist’s signature can be seen in the bottom left-hand corner. Sheryl Bodily was born in Boise, Idaho in 1936 to a family of five children and was son to a farmer. He recalls moving six separate times as a child for farming work, countless farming chores, and having the hobby of collecting arrowheads and artifacts in the Rocky Canyon near Meridian, Idaho. Later, he was considered a Montanan, as he was a resident of Columbia Falls, Montana. Bodily has won countless awards and Best of Show, with his works being widely collectible. This is truly a wonderful masterpiece showing fine detail and telling a wonderful story from a scene of the Western life. The measurements of this oil-on-board are 17 1/8" x 21 1/8" and the visible art measures 11" x 15". Provenance: This is from the personal Artist Margie Jackson.
