Serigraphic Tapestry Wall Hanging after the 1500s Lady and the Unicorn, Titled The Touch
This serigraphic tapestry on weave is a modern reproduction after the 15th-century French tapestry series The Lady and the Unicorn. The scene is titled The Touch and features a central female figure in medieval dress seated on a blue-green island. She is flanked by a lion to her left and a unicorn to her right, both of which support heraldic standards decorated with three white crescents on a blue diagonal band. The central figures are set against a dense red mille-fleurs background populated with various animals including monkeys, dogs, and birds, and punctuated by fruiting orange and oak trees. The textile is finished with a wide border composed of stylized acanthus leaf motifs. The reverse is fitted with a light-tan fabric lining and a top hanging sleeve for display. The piece hangs on a dark-finished wooden pole accented with gold-toned turned finials. Dimensions: 80.00"L x 0.20"W x 62.00"H
