This lot offers you a Red Wing Stoneware piece, originating from Lead South Dakota from around the turn of the 19th century. The piece originated as a necked jug with finger holder and has since been shortened with an added lid. The crock shows off an off-white hue on the exterior, and a burgundy finish on the interior. The crock includes a Red Wing style stoneware lid, with a flower motif on the top. The front of the crock reads "The Serasio Saloon, - Chas. Serasio, Prop. - Dealer in Domestic and Imported Liquors - California and Home Made Wines - A Specialty - Lead, - S.D.". The crock shows good condition, with no evident crazing, or cracks. The top has been altered as stated above. The crock measures 8 3/4" tall, and 7 1/8" wide and deep.
