The shotgun falls into the generally accepted serial number range of approximately 620,000 to 730,000, for WWI US Army contract trench shotguns. The left side of the barrel is stamped with the two line address followed by "12 GA." and "CYL", with the top of the barrel stamped with a "P" inside an oval and a circled Winchester "WP" proof at the breech. The right side of the receiver is marked "US" above an ordnance bomb and six-hole handguard/bayonet adapter with the patent date marking. The slide bar has the model and trademark information. Grooved forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches.

Condition: Arsenal refurbished. The shotgun retains 85% of the dull armory dip blue finish showing slide wear and some thinning to a brown. The wood is very good with some minor pressure dents and a shallow gouge. Mechanically excellent.
