Saginaw Trail Gene Autry Signed Original Lobby Card
From one of Gene Autry's best Musical-Westerns "Saginaw Trail", comes this original color lobby card. It has been signed by Gene Autry himself, and is specially shrink wrapped to insure it's excellent condition. Saginaw Trail is famous for the final sword fight scene (shown in the Lobby Card) which was actually done by master fencer Ralph Faulkner who was much taller than Gene, and had different color hair! However Gene hated fencing and refused to do the scene although he liked the idea of swashbuckling swordplay in a western which was unique at the time. ! it also is known for his gang to use "Yankee Doodle Dandy" as their "signal", even though the song wasn't written until 1904, and the film takes place in 1875. Lobby card is 14"x11".
