Remington 1858 New Model Army .44 Cal
SN: 50630 Antique U.S. Army contract single action percussion revolver chambered for .44 caliber ammunition, circa 1863-1875. Features an 8" octagonal barrel, dovetailed cone front sight, 'v' notched rear sight, loading lever, non-fluted six shot cylinder with safety notches, smooth trigger, knurled low-profile hammer spur, brass trigger guard and two-piece walnut grips. Serial numbers match on the frame, cylinder and barrel. Inspector stamps are found on the loading lever, frame, trigger guard, barrel, cylinder and grips. Revolver exhibits a mostly even brown patina with light scattered pin prick pitting. It would also appear that the revolver may have been painted black at some point as there is paint found on frame and small traces of paint found throughout. The hammer will not lock in the cocked position, nipples appear good, markings are very good, bore is good+ and wood grips are shrunken with a few small losses. Condition is NRA very good. ***Antique Firearm***
