Ram Singh, Silver Rupee, 11.03g, Sojat Mint, in the name of Alamgir II, Complete mint name at bottom on reverse (J. Lingen# S.02.02). Extremely fine, exceedingly rare.Maharaja Ram Singh signed treaty with Sindhias of Gwalior on 2nd February 1756 at Nagaur. By this treaty Maharaj Ram Singh secured for himself the half territory of Marwar from Maharaja Bijay Singh and also allowing Maratha Kamvisdar to stay in his territory in order to collect the daily money from customs outposts. The Marathas and Ram Singh were to share the money equally. The striking of this coin at Sojat might have been a joint undertaking with the Marathas (Detail reference taken from Jan Lingen Book “Marwar Jodhpur State” History and coinage). So far only 2 coins known of this exceedingly rare coins.
