The lot features a collection of six obsidian points from the Plateau and Plains Native American Indians with four being of a vintage age and two of an ancient age. The first is an excellent Agate Basin obsidian point showing nice long slender design, but broken point, of a 10,550-9,350 B.P. age (measures with the tip 5”L). Next is an obsidian Apple Blossom Stemmed or Koster point with red/brown and black coloring dating to 3,500-2,500 B.P. (measuring 2.75”L) And lastly there are four detailed obsidian points done in the style of the Northern Side Notch or Silent Snake (Madeline Dunes) design which shows an excurvate to straight blade with iconic parallel notches in a general “U” shape with the shoulders being horizontal at the same plane as the blade (in line of), the base is concave. Northern Side Notch points typically are from the Early Archaic Middle Holocene period dating to 7,500-6,400 B.P. with these appearing to be vintage to modern examples (measuring 3”L, 2 7/8”L, 2 7/8”L and 2 1/8”L).
