The first fourteen volumes of Pearson’s Magazine, an English periodical published by C Arthur Pearson in London, with gilt decorated covers and gilt decorated spines. With the first appearance in print of H G Wells’ The War of the Worlds and Kipling’s Captains Courageous. Black and white illustrations. Pearson’s was a monthly magazine which printed short stories for authors like Upton Sinclair, George Bernard Shaw, H G Wells, and Kipling, among others. The covers measure 9 3/4 x 7 in. wide, and there is wear, scuffs, rubbing, light soiling, light fraying at the tips, and many of the volumes are loose and shaken.
