Included in this lot is a large Papago Indian hand woven oval basket, circa 1940. The Papago Tohono O'odham (People of the Desert) are located in Arizona and are known for their weaving skills. This basket features tight weaving of yucca and bear grass, with a diagonal pattern circling the basket. This basket also features black devil's claw rim stitching. This basket is in excellent condition for its age. It measures 13 1/2" x 11" x 5".
