Production on this rifle began in 1943. The Imperial mum has been removed from the chamber, with the "2/Type" model marking remaining. Matching assembly number "920" is present on the barrel, takedown nut and the mounting hardware, and matching partial number "786" on the underside of the barrel. Blade and ladder sights, with early anti-aircraft wings, and mounted with a smooth two piece pistol grip stock with the wedge and bail wire connector, side mounted sling swivels, cupped buttplate and a drain hole on the forearm. Matching numbers on the bolt and bayonet lug.

Condition: Very fine. The rifle retains 90% plus of the original blue finish, showing areas thinning to a smooth brown patina and some scattered minor flushing. The mum has been ground off. The stock is also very fine, with overall scattered compression marks and dents. Mechanically excellent.
