Original oil painting on canvas showing portrait of young soldier in uniform wearing kepi. The portrait measures approx. 16-1/2” by 14” in width. Framed in a circular 19th century American frame on its original 4-piece stretcher. The reverse is inscribed in old script “Willy” last name illegible, auburn hair, two other names, one may be Elizabeth Blackbury and letters on cap “E6A” and more writing that is not quite discernable due to fancy script. The painting shows some cracking, normal aging, is very well accomplished with features, facial tone, and very well done somewhat in the Philadelphia style. It is our opinion this is the period of the Civil War and the frame is also from this period. Would be interesting to further research. Est: $400 - $800

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
