This is an excellent fully fancy beaded warrior’s shirt from the Ojibwa Native American Indians and dating to the third quarter of the 20th century. The shirt is made with navy blue trade cloth and features beautifully beaded exquisite intricate traditional designs on the collar, sleeves, cuffs, and bottom edge that includes chevron and target patterns of both sides. The beadwork is done in authentic glass trade seed trade beads with colors such as Cheyenne Pink, Chalk White, Pumpkin Yellow, Dark Transparent Red, Medium Green and Medium Blue. This beaded war shirt was featured in an advertisement for Freya's Collectables (Banff, Alberta, Canada) in the Autumn 2003 issue of "American Indian Art" magazine. The Ojibwa war shirt is in very good condition and is approximately size large. The shirt measures 62" wide from the tips of each sleeve, 23" across the chest - underneath each armpit, 27" tall from the neck line to the waist, and 24 1/2" long from shoulder seam to the tip of the sleeve. This is truly a museum quality authentic piece with some of the finest beadwork we have offered for sale.
