The lot features a nice pottery dough bowl which is from the Ohkay Owingeh San Juan Pueblo Native American Indians and dates to the 19th Century. The bowl has a utilitarian form with red polished finish and was most likely used as a dough bowl. Early 1800’s Ohkay Owingeh San Juan pottery is very scarce and predominetly utilitarian in form with this being a nice large representation with well preserved condition. The bowl shows some loss to the finish, but overall displays very well. The pueblo was first founded around 1200 AD during the Pueblo III Era, and its said the Tewa people moved from the San Luis Valley of southern Colorado. The piece shows good condition with no visible chips or cracks. Provenance: From a 90-year collection out of Central Arizona in the Coconino National Forest. This pot measures 5 1/4" tall with a 11" diameter.
