This is an exceptional ancient Ohio Hardin spear point which was collected by Roger Clemons in the 1920’s. The piece shows a grey / green Flint material with expertly crafted finish and very well-preserved condition. This point, which was recovered from Ohio, dates to 10,000-7,500 B.P. and shows a long blade which is slightly excurvate with notching that forms a “V” with barbed shoulders and an expanding base which is slightly concave showing a high quality of workmanship. The Hardin point is also referred to as a Hardin Barbed or Hardin Knobbed and was first identified in 1951 by Edward G. Skully in Illinois, it is one of the more recognized and desired points. Overall the piece shows good condition and measures 4.75”L.
