Lot of 3: 1) Manhattan Peerless Mining Co. Broadside. By 1907 the company owned several claim groups including the Peerless, but split them up in separate stock offerings. Most of the consolidation at Manhattan came in 1908. Some of this material shows the co-promotional efforts of the Peerless and Independent companies. Broadside is 16" x 21," and includes maps and testimonials [Ref: holabirdamericana.com/americana2002/auction16]. It is mounted on white backing in simple black plastic frame. 2) Page 1 of Belmont Courier. Vol. 5 Belmont, Nye County, Nevada: Saturday, July 20, 1878. NO. 24. Measures 14" x 21," mounted on white backing in simple black plastic frame. Belmont became the county seat in early 1867, becoming an "important mining and milling area and trading center for settlements in a radius of a hundred miles. Production continued until 1867 when most mines were shut down after recovering over $15 million [Ref: NV Ghost Towns, Paher, 1970, pp. 355-361]. 3) Spanish Belle Mining Company stock certificate page, no. 617-620, U/I, including reference stub attached at left. Incorporated in 1876 and datelined San Francisco, 1877, with "Spanish Belt Mining District., Nye County, Nevada.," printed at center bottom. Classic "Spanish Belle" vignette at lower right.
