The International Nickel Company of Canada. NICKEL COINS. No place of publication. Second edition, 1937. 4to, original flexible dark green textured cloth; palladium page edges and lettering. 243, (1) leaves; text and illustrations printed on rectos only; halftone illustrations of coins; finely printed in red and black throughout. Fine. A most handsome production, apparently published to promote pure nickel coinage. According to the foreword: "The term ‘nickel' used throughout this book refers to the metal in its maximum state of purity (99.+%) obtainable commercially in rolled form. It should not be confused with the Copper base alloy containing only 25% Nickel, sometimes used for subsidiary coinage, and often erroneously referred to as ‘Nickel.' Twenty-nine countries have issued Nickel coinage… This book contains facsimiles of the Nickel coins issued up to December 1936 with brief descriptions and dates of issue." Sigler 1371.
