Scarce State Of New York Civil War $12,000 “Bounties To Volunteers” Ornately Printed Civil War Era Bond
April 11, 1866-Dated Civil War Era, Partially-Printed Document, “Payment of Bounties to Volunteers” Bond. State Of New York, $12,000. Cut cancel. Choice Very Fine.
Original, State Of New York,“Payment of Bounties to Volunteers” Enlistment Bounty Payment dated April 11, 1866. Payments were made to Union Civil War Volunteer soldiers. This one was issued to Henry or Harry A Main of Saratoga County, New York. Manuscript cancel at center in brown by the Comptroller, who has signed this form was Thomas Hillhouse. The payment was in the amount of $12,000. This scarce Form is quite nice, with a sharply embossed official Seal of the Comptrollers Office for the State of New York is in the lower left corner. Boldly printed and historic, an item which would appear quite nice upon display.
