Offered for your consideration in this lot is an original Inuit Native American Indian Oosik seal, or halibut club. The Oosik, or baculum is the penile bone found in the penis of many placental animals. Traditionally in Inuit culture, these bones would be carved into scrimshaw decoration, or in this case - turned into a club for hunting. This club in particular shows layers of silver colored caps, spaced with a decorative acrylic. The club is very solid, and shows good condition. The Oosik measures 20 1/4" long, and 2" thick.
