Lot of 4 previously unknown documents. Incorporated in New York, 1864. 1) Stockholders letter sent from the "Head Office of Mount Vista Gold and Silver Mining Co." The letter states shares were available for $2/share and discusses other mines from the era including Gould & Curry, Savage, Ophia among others. Folds present. 2) "Agents Wanted in Every Town and Village" for the Mount Vista G&SMC prospectus. Notes J.P.M. Kennedy, Pres., A. E. Tice, Secr. Notes that "liberal commissions allowed to agents". Folds present. 3) Stock cert. # 221 issued in 1865 to John Remy (?) for 2 shares one vertical red R44 R4 hand tied perf stamp at left. One red seal at upper left. Signed by John Kennedy, Pres., and Secr. (?) Tape across face with folds and some foxing. 4) Assay value letter to shareholders. Notes ore to be valued at 32.8 oz. Silver ($42.31) and 6.68 oz. Gold ($138.09). Folds. This territorial mine was in Humboldt County and was previously unlisted. Unique and rare.
