Lot of 4 newspapers. Two from The Tonopah Miner, one Millers Booster, and one from the Tonopah Bonanza. The two from the Tonopah Miner dated March 30, 1914 and July 8, 1916. Laying open both measure 22”x 30”. Both have slight wear on the edges, and creases in the center on the papers from being folded in the past. It’s no surprise that the main topic of almost all the articles relate to mining. In the 1916 issue, the hot topic was a decision by the Nevada Supreme Court. Big news because it involved the local Jim Butler Tonopah Mining Company verses the West End Consolidated Mining Company. The Tonopah Miner was in operation from 1902 to 1921 [Ref: http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn86076143/]. The Millers Booster measures 20”x 25 ¾”. Two tears are present on the front page as well as the bottom and sides. Two creases appear across the center from being folded in the past. The Millers Booster was only in operation from October 2, 1907 to 1908. Production the newspaper was located in the little town of Millers, 15 miles west of Tonopah [Ref: Lingenfelter, and Karen Rix Gash, The Newspapers of Nevada: A History and Bibliography, 1854-1979, 1984] . The last newspaper, The Tonopah Bonanza measures 20”x 26”. Some wear on the edges of the paper and small age marks on the front page. The Tonopah Bonanza was in operation from 1901 to 1909 [Ref: http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn86076135/].
