-The town of Manhattan was the host of two mining booms, once in the 1860s and another in 1900. This photograph showed a large group of people posed for a photograph on the street. Many of the people are seated in automobiles and a couple individuals can be seen with motorbikes. Signs for the Central Hotel and Bar, the Merchants Hotel and Café and the Palace Café can been seen clearly behind the group. The contrast is medium and the focus is sharp, however there are some burry spots from movement. The photograph was produced by Weyle Art Shop of Goldfield, and most likely was taken pre 1911, as the shop was listed for sale in a 1911 publication of Camera Craft. Besides that, little else was found about the camera shop. The photograph measures 10”x 8” and is mounted on a grey matte. Both the matte and photograph have some wear including tears. HKA#61558
