My Little Chickadee (Universal, 1940). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). "Flower Belle, what a euphonious appellation. Easy on the ears and a banquet for the eyes." And what a treat for fans of W.C. Fields and Mae West! Even though Fields and West couldn't stand each other, they were still able to put their differences aside long enough to create this comedy masterpiece. Flower Belle Lee (West), a woman of somewhat loose virtue, is headed to Greasewood City after being run out of the last town for consorting with a bandit. She arranges to marry con artist Cuthbert J. Twillie (Fields) after mistaking him for a millionaire. While in Greasewood, each of them indulge in their own specialties -- Fields with card sharking ("Is this a game of chance? Not the way I play it, no.") and West with substitute teaching young lads ("Two and two are four and five will give you ten if you play your cards right."). This lobby card has pinholes, light edge wear and tears, corner creases and a small light edge stain. A wonderful piece from the best known film from the careers of both stars. Fine+.
