Barrel-form lidded ice bucket in polished copper with brass banding, the body constructed as a coopered barrel with two broad brass straps secured by domed rivet heads and matching brass foot and rim bands. The domed copper lid has a turned knop finial, and the bucket is fitted with a pivoting brass swing handle. Interior retains the original clear removable glass liner, sized to drop neatly within the metal shell. The underside of the base stamped with a diamond-form maker’s mark “TRADEMARK / LINTON / MADE IN ENGLAND”, identifying the maker as Linton. A handsome piece of mid-century English cocktail service, ideal for a home bar. Condition: copper body with overall surface wear, scattered small dents and scratches, and areas of spotting and tarnish consistent with age and use; brass bands and handle with oxidation and patina, some rubbing and minor verdigris around rivets; lid fits well, knob secure; glass liner present and free of cracks or chips, with light internal scratching and clouding from use; base with more pronounced surface wear and toning around the stamped mark. Height to top of lid approx. 6 1/2 in.; height to top of raised handle approx. 9 in.; diameter approx. 5 3/4 in.
