For your consideration in this lot we have an original circa 1836 McKenney and Hall Caa-Tou-See Ojibway Chief hand tinted engraving. The piece shows the Native American in a white shirt with a gold necklace and decorative face paint and feathers. The bottom of the lithograph is marked "Caa-Tou-See An Ojibway". The hand-colored etching lithograph Charles Bird King (American/Rhode Island, 1785-1862) from the History of the Indian Tribes of North America, published by E.C. Biddle, Philadelphia. It shows good condition overall with some light wear on the frame. The frame measures 19 1/2" wide by 24 3/4" tall with the portrait measuring 9 3/4" wide by 14 3/4" tall.
