Maximinus II, A.D. 309-313.
Maximinus II, A.D. 309-313.<p>AE follis minted at Antioch, A.D. 312. Laureate head right of Maximinus II/Genius standing to left, holding cornucopiae and bust of Sol. RIC 164b. AU58 ICG, nearly fully silvered. Since the silver coating on essentially bronze coins was so thinly applied, it is seldom that fully silvered coins are found; burial often results in the overlay being quickly and irreversibly attacked. This is a happy exception. Maximinus II minted coins at thirteen mints, from London to Alexandria. From the Collection of Dr. Joseph M. Seventko.
