Acrylic on canvas painting, featuring landscape scene of two birch trees and oak tree; monogram of TBM on lower left corner; verso inscribed Marie Boucher near the top, with the numbers 62013/099 on the bottom right corner; 17.5 x 23 inch (44.45 x 58.42 cm). Marie-Claude Boucher was born in Charny, Quebec in 1973. Her interest in art began with her twin sister at an early age and painting has become her passion. She studied Latin, Spanish language, and French Literature at McGill University in Montreal and briefly pursued a career in teaching before choosing to devote herself full-time to painting. Marie-Claude maintains a palette of primary and pure colours. She has developed her distinct style with the use of spontaneous and rapid brushstrokes. She has chosen to focus on the rural settings of her youth where she spent all of her summers in Notre-Dame-du-Lac. Churches, red roofs, simple Quebec homes and fences are her favourite subjects.
