For your consideration is this Mahan Family fireman badge from Baker City, Oregon, circa 1888. The fireman badge shows brass construction with an eagle top shield and a center decoration of a ladder and fireman helmet with cross nozzles. The plates show blue debossed lettering, reading “Luthur Mahan - Baker Fire Dept. - Baker, Oregon”. The badge also shows the makers mark on the back of the shield, reading “Everson-Ross Co. - 88' - Chambers St. N.Y.” The condition of this fireman badge is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this fireman badge are 2" x 1 1/4". Provenance: From the famed ex-collection of Western History, Jim Aplan as well as the Mahan Family of Baker City, Oregon.
