Madonna Lily Faberge Inspired Egg
Czar Nicholas presented the egg to his wife, the Czarina Alexandra Fyodorovna in 1899. The egg uses the symbolic language of flowers: the combination of roses (symbols of love) with lilies (symbols of purity and innocence), combined with burning torches, the flames from which turn into luxuriant foliate scrolls, suggests the virtuous flame of family love. The surprise from this egg is missing, but it was a pendant made with ruby and rose-cut diamonds. This egg was never sold. In 1927 it was transferred to Kremlin Armory in Moscow. 6.5'' (H) X 2.5'' (W) Weight: 1 lb 9 oz Pewter, Enamel, Crystals Faberge is a trademark of Pallinghurst Resources LLP.
