Silver Medals (2), India General Service Medal, Clasp Burma 1930-32, Awarded to U SAN BA & Jubilee Medal 1935, Awarded to U SAN BA (The 1935 Jubilee medal roll mentions him as Ba, U San, Township Officer, Myook, Burma). Very fine, unique pair of medals to a Burmese recipient for the Saya San Rebellion of 1930-32, rare.
Myook means Township Officer in Burmese. The ‘U’ is a Burmese honorific for addressing senior officials. He would have received the IGS-08 medal with clasp ‘Burma 1930-32’ for his services in putting down the Saya San Rebellion of 1930-32 in British Burma. He was later recommended for the Jubilee medal.
