Lot of 14 early items relating to the history of the Boulder Canyon Project/ Hoover Dam on the Colorado River. Included are: Two booklets titled “Construction of Boulder Dam” (1934) and “Construction of Hoover Dam” (1950), published by the Department of Interior that describe the project from start to finish. Plentiful photos; a “Map Showing Roads To Boulder Canyon Project (Hoover Dam) and Colorado River Aqueduct,” published by the Automobile Club of So. California, with descriptive text (No Date); early colored linen post card showing the upstream face and intake towers of the dam; a “View-Book of the Boulder (Hoover) Dam—‘World’s Biggest Job.’” It contains 40 photos and drawings, with text. Published c.1934; 2 “Lake Mead and Lake Mohave” maps, pub. 1957 by the U.S. Dept. of Interior; a 1931 brochure titled “Hoover Dam,” published by Union Pacific Railroad and containing a beautiful full-color panoramic map “as it will appear when dam is completed.” The brochure also contains numerous other photos and historical vignettes on the dam and surrounding area; a small leather covered photo album containing a few candid snapshots of the dam—c.1934; “Pictorial Boulder Dam,” booklet (1938) containing “Camera Studies of Boulder Dam,” published by the Boulder Dam Service Bureau. Contains approximately 25 pages of scenes of the dam and surrounding area; “Weekly News Review” newspaper issue of Washington D.C., dated May 14, 1928, with a long article titled “Congress Engages in Boulder Dam Debate;” packet of RPCs—“Real Snapshots, Complete Boulder Dam Set,” from 1948; 2 Dept. of Interior brochures on the Boulder Dam Museum; and a 1924 booklet titled” The Boulder Dam All-American Canal Project,” dated 1924, 30 pgs., published by the Imperial Irrigation District.
