"featherweight" Double barrel side lock shotgun marked "L.C. Smith" on side plates, manufactured circa 1912-1950. Features 28" blued "Armor Steel" barrels (choked IM/Full), right barrel marked "L.C. Smith-12 Ga.-Field-Fulton, NY", matching serial number on watertable and barrels, watertable and barrels also stamped "Field" and "FW" (featherweight) low matted rib with brass bead front sight, case color action with removable side plates, double triggers, tang safety, top lever, single extractor, walnut stocks with smooth splinter forend & semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth black plastic or composition grip cap, unmarked smooth black plastic or composition buttplate. Shotgun has been professionally restored. Bores are very good. Retains about 94% original blued finish on barrels, with a couple of spots of light pitting on the lower right barrel, some muzzle/handling wear. original casehardened action is about 90% with handling loss on the tang, bottom metal. Wood is overall very good, no cracks, some scratches, scuffs and finish loss, mostly to the shoulder stock LOP is 14"' to the front trigger. FWS prefix 1946-1950.
