lot of 3. 1) Antiquities of Central and Southern Missouri. Fowke, Gerard. Bulletin 37 (1910). Fowke wrote second bulletin for the Bureau of Ethnology in 1922 (also regarding his archaeological investigations in Missouri.) His first book covering the antiquities includes extensive research on the mounds found throughout Missouri. Includes 19 photographic plate illustrations and 20 text figures. 2) A Dictionary of the Biloxi and Ofo Languages. Dorsey, James Owen and Swanton, John R. Bulletin 47 (1912). Published after Dorsey's death, this book is the culmination of his work with native languages. He translated Biloxi from the Siouan language (the language of focus for Dorsey's most famous work.) Covers phonetics and historical sketches, with a broad and rather complete dictionary of terms. Hardbound in green cloth. 340 pp. 6" x 9". 3) An Introduction to Kansas Archaeology. Wedel, Waldo R. With Description of the Skeletal Remains from Doniophan and Scott Counties, Kansas, by T.D. Stewart. Bulletin 174 (1959). Wedel worked as Head Curator of the National Museum, Division of Archaeology. This bulletin was written when he was the Assistant Curator, a position he held for 12 years [anthropology.si.edu]. Includes 95 photographic plate illustrations of artifacts found during his research in Kansas. Hardbound in green cloth. 723 pp. 6" x 9". - Vinegar Collection
