Original Saloon Chip from the R.B. Stevens Acme Saloon. Provenance: Al and Carol Cali Collection of Early California Gold Rush History. Notorious gunman John Wesley Hardin was shot and killed by Constable John Selman Sr. in the Acme Saloon in El Paso, Texas, on August 19, 1895. While gambling and throwing dice, Hardin was shot in the back of the head by Selman, effectively ending the life of one of the Old West's most infamous outlaws.
