Ceramic mug with gold-painted handle made to commemorate the 1966 western El Dorado, given to Old Tucson founder Bob Shelton by movie legend John Wayne, who starred as gunslinger-for-hire Cole Thornton. The front of the mug shows a rainbow leading over mountains and two horse-mounted cowboys to a pot of gold above the words "El Dorado," with the reverse boldly reading: “Bob from Duke.” The bottom features a stamp for The Mug Shop. In fine condition. A thoughtful and appealing gift from the movie legend to the overseer of the famed Old Tucson Studios.
