Item/Description: Antique Japanese Ikebana Vase (c. 1900) is a hallmark of the Meiji period, expertly hand-carved from Kiri wood (Paulownia) to retain its natural, log-like form. The exterior features a sophisticated Maki-e lacquer design, where gold and red metallic powders are layered to create a raised, decorative motif of a bird perched among trailing vines. Designed for traditional flower arrangement, the vessel contains a copper liner to hold water, blending rustic, organic aesthetics with the refined craftsmanship characteristic of late 19th-century Japanese decorative arts.
