This is an extremely rare example of a Japanese Late-War Arisaka Type 99 bolt-action service rifle chambered in 7.7X58 Arisaka. Bright, shiny bore. Due to the scarcity of materials late in the war there were fewer of these models produced making them extremely rare in Canada. The Imperial Chrysanthemum has been removed the receiver as is the case with almost all WWII Japanese rifles (photo). This rifle has a number of the "improvements" made by the Japanese to speed production, including no channel in the stock for a cleaning rod, simplified sights (photo), plain steel non-chromed bore and a rough finish on the stock (photo). The butt of the stock is assembled from two pieces of wood to make more use of scarce materials (photo).

This is a Non-Restricted firearm.
