AE 24 of Shim'on bar Kochba who led the Second Jewish Revolt against Hadrian dated year 2.Obverse: Seven branched palm tree with two bunches of dates, (The seven branches of the palm tree could well allude to the holy Menorah, that was generally considered too holy to depict on coins), Paelo-Hebrew inscription : 'Shimon'. -- Reverse: Five-lobed vine from curved branch, paleo-Hebrew inscription "For the freedom of Jerusalem", (following the Roman practice of using inscription). The coin measures 24 mm in diameter.-- This is an outstanding coin due to its very high grade condition!
